Feria San Bernabe!

It is a tradition that every town in Andalusia has its own festival (feria), which usually lasts a week. Stages, portable bars and funfairs are set up, and there are performances, dance shows and historical reenactments. The first feria starts in Seville in mid-April, and then each of the larger cities organises its own until late autumn. If you made an effort and went from town to town during these six months, you could see them all.
This year’s Marbella festival (Feria San Bernabe) began with a concert and fireworks display on 7 June and ended with a historical re-enactment – the handing over of the keys to the city to the Catholic Kings (1485) on 12 June.
